Looking for something different things in Hawaii to do? Oahu Photography Tours offers a “Friday Night Lights” photography tour every week. This event is truly extraordinary! We start by photographing the sunset at Magic Island in Waikiki. As the sun melts and fuses with the horizon, you’ll be capturing the drama of light playing in the evening’s unique cloud formations.
Your Night at a Glance
After dark, we visit Kaka’ako, an emerging epicenter for Hawaii’s urban-island culture. The atmosphere is inspiring, serving as an incubator for highly talented artists, chefs, influencers, and entrepreneurs. Here, you’ll photograph large murals composed as narratives rooted in Hawaiian cultural values. At this stop, we take advantage of the lowlight and rich content available to teach you how to use a long exposure technique on your camera to make the artwork pop in your photos.
Did you know about the Friday night fireworks show in Waikiki? A joyful event that also happens to make for artistic photos! We’ll get you set up in a prime position to watch this sky performance, as well as capture epic photos.
Later, we head out to explore the area to practice more long exposure photography techniques. We’ll throw in a few unforgettable surprises as well – it’s fun, we promise! You’re going to love this!
Don’t worry, shooting in low light may be intimidating but we’ll teach you how to use your camera to play with light and darkness and to take stellar photos during darker times of the day. It’s easier than you might think! You’ll be able to carry these techniques and skills with you into the future, and the photographs you’ll capture from this photo tour will astonish you! This is one of the most unique things in Hawaii to do.
