Right from the start, we will start having a great time. This Compete Island Adventure is an excellent opportunity to see the island of Oahu with a small group and a professional guide. We head straight up the North Shore for coffee, arriving before all the tourists from Waikiki.
The locations we have planned for this tour are extraordinary. We will visit the Waiema waterfall and travel the entire Windward side of Oahu to the sea-cliff on the East side. Perfectly timed, we hit all the spots you have on your bucket list and some spots you didn’t even know existed. We also provide admission to all areas we visit, allowing you to skip the line.

Escape from the Waikiki jungle and into the heart of old Hawaii. We will stop at a coffee plantation after the drive up to the North shore for a cup of local Hawaiian coffee. After grabbing a drink, we will visit the Haleiwa Harbor, search for the green sea turtles, and capture photos of Mount Kaala in the distance.
Your private garden and waterfall. Bring your suit if you want to dip into this spring-fed waterfall. After this, we will head into the Waimea Valley for a breathtaking experience of their botanical garden and waterfall. The walk out of the park will allow you to see all the flowers and birds of Waimea. Arriving right as they open, we allow you to experience Waimea valley with almost no one in sight.
After the peaceful walk through the Waimea gardens, we will check out one of the beautiful beaches on the North Shore. In the winter months, we will find surfers at the Banzai Pipeline. The holy grail of surfing waves. Whether you come to Hawaii in the summer, you must see it. The winter can hold waves over 50 feet, while the summer’s clear waters will take your breath away. No matter when you are here, the Banzai Pipeline is a place you will never forget.
By this time, your tummy is calling to you. The worry the food trucks are right around the corner. There will be a lot of options for you at this location. At the Kahuku food trucks stop, you can choose between the famous Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck or the Bald Guy from the Netflix series.
Now that you have filled your bellies with tasty food, let’s sit back and relax as we drive windward. We will make our way to capture the island known as Chinamans hat for some beautiful photos. You can ask your guide questions while we pass fantastic, unique topography and beautiful scenery.
From here, we head to the Byodo-In Temple for a more peaceful approach to this tour. Our goal is to get you here after all the big buses make their stop. You will enjoy the architecture of this replica built in the 1960s. You have plenty of time to enjoy this temple. Walk around and feel the peace the Byodo-In Temple offers.
Then we are off to the windy spot known as the Pali Lookout. Meaning, cliff lookout, the views from here are fantastic. The sun should be just right to send light down to the valley floor for great photos. Take a walk around and read some of the plaques here. The history is fascinating.
Off to the last stops on this island tour. Let’s say we save the best for last. The Makapu’u and the Halona Blow Hole lookouts are so of the most famous lookouts on the island, and when you visit these spots, you’ll find out why. The colors you’ll see at both locations will be unique and mesmerizing. The vastness of the Makapu’u lookout to the power you’ll see at the Halona Blow Hole will surely be a memory you’ll keep with you for a long time.
Before we head back into Waikiki, we want to leave you will a good taste in your mouth. That will be from the Malasadas we pick up at Leonards. The famous Portuguese donuts are worth trying, even if it is just a bite—our treat to you.
